About
Hi, I'm Evi! I'm a big lover of hiking and all things outdoors. In 2020, I moved back to Belgium after studying and working in Norway. During the lockdown in Belgium, I started dreaming about long trails and mountaineering routes. Once the world reopened, I climbed my first 4000-meter peak (Signalkuppe, 4552 m) and completed shorter section hikes of the Traversée des Pyrénées and the Müllerthal Trail. On April 29, 2022, I set foot on the Pacific Crest Trail, a 4,265-kilometer trail stretching from Mexico to Canada. It was an adventure that completely changed my life. Since then, I hiked over 11,000km on trails worldwide.
In 2025, I returned to the Pacific Crest Trail to reconnect with the place where it all began. Hiking the trail for a second time was in every way better than I imagined, becoming a much more confident hiker and setting the stage for many future adventures.
Before all this, I studied Biology at Ghent University and continued with two years of PhD studies in Earth Sciences at the University of Bergen in Norway. These days, I work as an independent contractor for AllTrails, focusing on trails in Belgium. During the winter, I work part-time at Tromsø Outdoor's rental center and manage social media projects.
